I have enjoyed both Lunches and two great evenings in Leaf since its recent opening. A lot of work has gone into making The Prince of Wales very swanky. A classy and welcoming interior with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Both weekday lunches were really fantastic and the tea really is by far the best in town. The live music really seals the deal for me - live, classy and sympathetic repertoire - light and classy in the afternoon and upbeat in the evening - a touch of London or New Yorks finest in Royal Leamington Spa. I can highly recommend a visit during the day or in the evening, you really wont be disappointed!

I'd heard a lot of good things about this place and was really looking forward to going with my boyf. The place is really nicely decorated and there was a good selection of drinks, including a seperate tea & cake section. You have the option of formal seating or big comfy sofas that you can relax in so it's really versatile. The loos were really clean and well looked after. Sadly the female bar staff were very unhelpful and made us feel like serving us was inconvenient. I would have given the place 5 stars but can only give three because of the terrible service. I'm sure it would be amazing if you went on a day where there were different staff members - so I do recommend it!

Tuesday afternoon was a special time at LEAF Tea Rooms where I was given the opportunity to offer shiatsu massage to the staff at the cafe. It was a great chance to work with the women who make the cafe a special place to visit.
Thanks to Gursh and all the girls

If it's your first visit to LEAF Tea Rooms the entrance can be pleasantly upmarket
and in a way you feel you should be better dressed..but the friendly welcome dispels that quickly.
I enjoyed the range of teas available but my partner, an avid coffee drinker, has found Apple and Mint to be absolutely to her taste..BUT she was far more impressed by the quality of the chair she sat in..the relaxed atmosphere and music.
I will be going back to LEAF more often.

ReportWas really looking forward to going for a tea infused session at this new venue but we were let down. Its difficult to know what this place is trying to be - its a bit like a confused teenager really. I think they may have opened too early and not ready/finished. Hence why I gave them a 3 rating (but really, I was thinking of only giving a 1 or at a push 2).
However, its worth going for a visit and have a drink or tea/coffee and its down to personal opinion if its your "cup of tea". Hopefully things will improve as it could be a cracking little venue.
I noticed Leamington had a new piano bar whilst walking past the other week. I thought it looked good so I took my partner in for some evening drinks and to check it out. The place had a great vibe and the guy on the big grand piano was propper amazing all over the notes like he was on jools holland!! The wine was good and the staff really friendly a combination you dont find often on a night out in The Leam. With the piano dude playing the place had a wicked vibe and I definitely suggest you check it out one evening.

We popped in to sample the tea rooms earlier this afternoon..upon arrival, it did feel very dark and there wasn't that much comfy seating for a tea room. That said, loads of space on the piano bar side of things which makes me think that it's a diffucult task to mix the two environments. Our waitress presented us with our menus and left us to it - no introduction to what teas where available and no mention of cakes of the day. I would have thought with the recent opening that staff would have been briefed to exceed all customer expectations to entice repeat business? Apparently not...! We asked for the tea selection and were handed a scrap of paper with scribbled notes of teas and a list of cakes. What irkes me is that we had to work out for ourselves what cakes where on the menu - surely that comes under the job description of waitress? So we placed our order after checking the cakes were home made...which they were. Our tea arrived in good time in the latest suki tea pots (good sign) however the cups were coffee cups, very thick and heavy duty - not really doing the different flavoured teas much justice! Half of our order arrived 10 mins later. We had to wait a further 5 mins for the remaining to arrive - not really sure why two pieces of cake can't be prepared at the same time? No apologies and no cutlery. Cakes were tasty but by this point our tea was cold and we were ready to leave...we went to the till to pay and were then informed that they couldn't take card payments! I think it might have been helpful to mention this at the point of ordering, just out of courtesy more than anything. All in all, a bit of a let down for such a new establishment however we will try the piano bar one night and hopefully the evening staff have a better understanding of customer service and how drinks should be served!
